Hair is on the mildly acidic side of the pH scale and has an ideal pH of 4.5 to 5.5, which is close to that of an apple cider vinegar rinse (pH 2.9).
ACV is a great natural clarifying rinse to get rid of product build up which are strongly alkaline (such as hair colouring and shampoo).
Rinsing with ACV will help close the numerous cuticle scales which cover and protect the surface of each hair shaft. This will give a smoother surface which reflects more light and as a result leaves your hair shinier, smoother and easier to manage.

I am 18 years old and I started the Body for Life 12 wk Program and have lost 25 lbs. but it is slowly stopping and I would like to get down to 185lbs. I was wondering if anyone has tried drinking acv before every meal (2 a day) and how much you lost. Just curious if others have seen acv to help weight loss.
I believe that Apple Cider Vinegar has many positive benefits, but weight loss is not directly one of them. To lose further weight, I would suggest cutting out foods that tend to not burn off (carbs) and increase your exercising.
Absolutely stay away from any grains (cereals, pastas, breads.) This is where the extra weight on Americans comes from (in addition to sugar snacks.) Try to stay away from the soft drinks and stick with water.

I’ve heard that it boosts your immune system and metabolism, and will kick out a cold/sore throat quick.
I like to take it straight.. though most people I know who use it mix it with water b/c it’s strong. is it harmful to take it straight?
For thousands of years the most sophisticated doctors, healers and everyday folk have trusted apple cider vinegar to improve a whole range of physical problems. By taking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of honey in six to eight ounces of water mid-morning and mid-afternoon, you will give yourself a boost of energy which is effective until the next meal.
Research has shown that apple cider vinegar can assist in digestion, lowering bad cholesterol, strengthening the heart, easing high blood pressure and stabilizing blood sugar. ACV also contains anti-oxidants, which help ward off certain cancers.
Dating back to before the Roman Empire, apple cider vinegar has been used as a circulation tonic, a preventative against bacteria, viruses and yeast infections. It is particularly great as a skin treatment, dissolving fatty deposits at the surface of the skin. Apple cider vinegar has even been used as a fashion statement with nineteenth century Europeans using it as their eau-de-toilette.
The most amazing effects of apple cider vinegar are to be found when combining it with crushed plants or mixing with essential oils. For example: Use it with Lavender or Rosemary as a tonic for your skin and rejuvenate the skin’s Ph with remarkable results.

I always here how apple cider vinegar is so healthy, why not other vinegars? Is balsamic healthy at all?
Apple cider vinegar is made from a "mother" or a concentrated ferment of dead yeast cells and bacteria that have "blown out" their alcohol content. Similiar to proofing yeasted dough for 12 hours to finish the fermentation process. With bread, any proofing less than 12 hours does not lead to finished fermentation and leads to the bread completing its fermentation in the gut. The apple cider "mother" forms as a scum on the fermentation of the apples and provides the "base" for the next batch of vinegar.
Other vinegars such as balsamic are fresh ferments and there isn’t any carry over of nutrients, yeast and bacteria from batch to batch which is why apple cider has its reputation as being a healing vinegar.
