Does consuming a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar really help weight loss?

My friend said that drinking a tablespoon of this each night allows you to burn fat quicker. I read about it and my source said that it is a popular hunger suppressant- so is it safe or no? Does this really prove to be effective or are there better methods to burn fat through home-remedies such as this? If so, what?
