    I smoked for 30 years and finally gave it up 4 years ago, but I went from killing myself with a cigarette to killing myself with a knife and fork. I put on quite a bit of weight over the last few years. I gave up meat and dairy and now the weight is coming off, and I feel 100% better. I’m having my left knee replaced soon and need to drop as much as I can before the surgery. Other than my knee that I hurt in an accident I haven’t had any other joint pain since giving up meat.

    Majority of the foods I eat are fresh fruit, vegetables and greens– and a little nuts & seeds. I stay with the water rich foods and not too much dehydrated stuff. Supplements I’m not too consistent with– try to take Vit D & B-Complex.

    What you say makes perfect sense and the first few months after I quit smoking I allowed myself to eat more because it help buffer the withdrawl (and the release of toxins). Now, I am soooooooooooo ready to release this weight and get on with my life!!!
