Whether you are a diabetic looking to cut down on your sugar intake, an active person looking to upgrade the health benefits of your daily menu, or someone concerned with not contributing to the abuse of animal rights, the vegan lifestyle comes with a multitude of benefits.

Often, the vegan lifestyle is paired with a diet primarily comprised of raw foods, which takes the vegan benefits much further. The problem with the conventional diet is that by cooking our food it loses much of its health benefits, such as the vitamins, minerals and enzymes. Those are essential to our body in order to eliminate harmful toxins.

The best part about the vegan diet is that you no longer have to worry about calorie restrictions or low carbohydrate intake. What you eat naturally is low in unhealthy/processed carbohydrates. This takes the hassle out of dieting. Instead of a quick-fix regimen for weight loss, going vegan allows you to lose weight the healthy way, by upgrading to a healthier lifestyle.

    l see someone …
    l see someone ignorantly removed my factual comment answering his question of how there r several people (mostly female) who r vegan AND fat! One was big as me and the others were more Amazon like only b/c they were much taller and thus less round and more door shaped. And they ALL were vegan.

    So whatever deleated my comment does NOT negate the fact that they r vegan and big. Not exactly sure why,

  2. Sogwa Says:

    l know several …
    l know several vegans who are my size (or perhaps even bigger)! The only reason a few SEEM smaller is b/c they are way taller than me but these heavy women & men are not only vegan (& some raw food lifestyle eaters), they are chefs & work in the Hebrew Isrealite Vegan Cafe!

    So YES l know several overweight vegans!

    @EllenRebecca3 Food …
    @EllenRebecca3 Food sources are ALWAYS better. Suppliments are useless. If you can get your source from food, GET IT from food!
    Its interesting: vegans are “unhealthy” if they take a b12 suppliment. But meat eaters who take a multivitamin, plus vitaminC, plus vitaminD, plus whatever other pills they pop EVERYDAY are apparently healthy? Wait, so we take ONE suppliment (I’m raw and I don’t) and it’s bad, but meat eaters take billions of dollars worth of pills everyday and its fine? Bullshit.

    I’m from the UK too :-) I’m sure I’ll find B12 fortified cereals if I look for them. Cheers.

    I am not sure, I …
    I am not sure, I don’t really eat cereals. But I do have the dairy substitutes. I live in the U.K so I don’t know if we have the same products. You can search the internet, there are many websites with good information.

    “Origionaly we …
    “Origionaly we would have gotten our B12 from raw unwashed vegetables. But the amount of pollution and overloading of the soils in modern agriculture has pretty much wiped that out.” – I know, and it’s a realy bummer :-( I think we’re better off eating the fortified cereals and dairy alternatives as the nutritional content’s better than meat and it contains no fat or cholesterol, but does contain fibre (the cereal). Can you name some cereals that contain B12 please? :-)

    Origionaly we would …
    Origionaly we would have gotten our B12 from raw unwashed vegetables. But the amount of pollution and overloading of the soils in modern agriculture has pretty much wiped that out. Most animals raised for meat will be given B12 suppliments too, so meat eaters aren’t exactly better off. Alot of Dairy alternatives and many cereals are fortified with B12 now so there isn’t much to worry about.

    @UniveralTruths
    Wow, doesn’t that just say something! 8-o Supplements too, and not a natural source coming from the ground. Worrying truth. I get B12 from Marmite as it’s the closest I can get to a food. Am I better off eating that than a supplement though? Which is better for me, or is it a margin’s difference?

  12. UniversalTruths Says:

    Vegans taking B12 …
    Vegans taking B12 supplements usualy have better B12 intakes than meat eaters.

    That’s alright :-)
    That’s alright :-) I’m learning how to be a vegetarian, or more specifically a lacto ovo vegetarian (at the moment at least), and have done so far for four days. I’m really enjoying it but am anxious to make sure I get enough protein, calcium, vit B12 and iron – I know a lot of veggies and vegans are driven crazy by people saying they might go anaemic for lack of these things, but, as I’m inexperienced, I want to be careful. I love good health in all forms.
