I don’t really want to agree with the top poster, but he’s sort of right in a way.

Eco-friendly is just to show that you’re not hypocritical if you claim you love the environment

However in reality, convincing the local government or a large corporation to implement the TINIEST eco-improvement behavior would be countless times more effective. The corporation I worked with probably throws out more trash in one hour, then you will in your lifetime. Now imagine if you had them enact something more significant – what kind of impact that would be

To do this, you have to be active in well…activism and that kind of stuff.

You do whatever you want to do; You are not going to save the world though by doing so… It is a losing battle.

It would more or less be a futile way of saying "Well at least I’m not the one to blame, I did my part."
