    Another thought the …
Another thought the extra energy could be used to blast classical music on every floor. You know the studies that were done on classical music effects plant growth positively. Well that would be just great wouldn’t it!

    Maybe the outer …
Maybe the outer walls (which are already dark in color) can be used to install solar panels, which could power the flourescent grow lights inside! It’s perfect, literally direct conversion sunlight –> growlight. THen, we don’t need wind towers on top. But, it would require cost efficiency so we need some cheaper technology. I’m sure it’s out there, it just has to be subsidized!

    love to see this …
love to see this happen. our current method of agriculture is not efficient, and unsustainable. not to mention it does quite a bit of damage to the environment.

id like to see vertical farms build.

    I really love this …
I really love this idea, but skyscrapers cost $47 a sq foot and agricultural land cost $6 to $7 a sq foot. The gap would have to closed by cheaper construction costs (robotics perhaps) saving on transport and growing to order with no waste. Love to see it happen.

    How little you have …
How little you have searched, google” Wind Powered Rotating Skyscraper” and learn there is a way to have silent wind producing rotating skyscrapers and then they can follow the sun to grow food.

    they forgot to put …
they forgot to put in the “thud thud thud thud”of the wind turbines inside the building – because it would definitely be there and just as loud if not louder than outside, they would shake the entire bulding – plus wind drag adds to building strain.

    wind power stations …
wind power stations so close to people are causing a high noise and magnetical field.. but concept is green:)

This is being built in France, it’s more then just an idea. It’s reality.

  17. fenrir7139 Says:

It would have to be …
It would have to be harvested by hand, which, while seemingly slower and bad, is a good thing. First, it would generate jobs very rapidly; second, it would basically eliminate fossil fuel used by harvesting equipment, and, third, because of its vertical shape, it could be built INSIDE of a city, meaning the food could be used for that city, making it fresher, and, also eliminating (to an extent) the use of gas for transport. Not to mention it could be controlled, meaning no insects.

you should try going to the site verticalfarm(dot)com. the site explains how this system of farming is more practical during the long run.

    I don’t see this …
I don’t see this being practical. I could however see this being made as an attraction. Honestly how do you harvest something like that.
I this is nothing but an artistic conception to stimulate out of the box thinking.

    That’s pretty cool. …
That’s pretty cool. Unfortunately, you can’t just buy some land from present users, or homestead some unused land, and build something like that. That would be too easy. No, instead, the political class demands a cut, hence zoning and all manner of other construction-related regulations, which will triple costs and make sure only the already-wealthy and well-connected get to turn a profit. People will starve while the builders are still trying to scrounge up cash for kickbacks.
