1. Reducing or eliminating animal product use
2. Buying local as much as one can.
3. Use public transportation, walking or a bike instead of driving.
4. Reduce consumption in general. Buy less and when you buy, buy used.
5. Boycotting companies that harm the environment.

Living Green Salad Recipe with a
Delicious Orange Citrus-Avocado-Fennel
Low Calorie Salad Dressing Recipe
?

* I n g r e d i e n t s *
For the DRESSING:
— 2 Oranges
— 1 bunch of Fennel leaves
— 1 Avocado, roughly chopped

For the SALAD:
— 1 head of Romaine Lettuce
— 1 head of Celery
— 2 Pears
— 1 Cucumber*
— 2-4 Oranges (enough to make about 2 cups worth of orange segments)
*unpeeled if organic, peeled if inorganic

* P r e p a r a t i o n *
— 1) For the dressing, use a manual citrus juicer or a citrus hand juicer to squeeze the juice of 2 oranges into your Vita-Mix blender, or other high-powered blender of your choice. http://bit.ly/GZsuq or http://bit.ly/3OTXD9

— 2) By hand, break the fennel leaves into smaller pieces & toss them along with the roughly chopped avocado into your Vitamix blender as well.

— 3) Blend until desired consistency is reached.

— 4) For the salad, chop the romaine lettuce leaves, celery stalks, pears, orange segments & cucumber all into bite-sized pieces with a chef’s knife & toss together in a large serving bowl.

— 5) Drizzle dressing over salad or offer it on the side…enjoy!

— When hot, dehydrated & hungry, it feels good to make a recipe that’s full of greens, yet also delicious, satisfying & thirst-quenching! Isn’t this salad gorgeous? So light, tasty & refreshing… beautiful too! I’ve found that cutting the excess fat out of our diets helps with weight loss & regeneration, as well as for increased mental clarity & higher levels of energy.

— I might be looking on the skinny side lately, but lately I’ve been eating very low-fat as part of my own personal summer detox program. I do plan on doing some deeper healing & total regeneration, so do not be alarmed if/when I temporarily get skinnier. Krista can vouch for the fact that because of all the years I spent bodybuilding, the ‘good’ part that came from all that abuse I did to my body in the gym is that today my muscles are very quick to respond to any weight training I do. So when I re-enter a building phase again this fall and winter, you’ll literally see me gain 5 pounds of quality tissue and/or muscle in a week. I also eat a lot of high-water fruits & vegetables. I don’t eat any dehydrated foods at this time & the densest foods I currently eat are only avocados & thai young coconuts.

— Remember to take care of yourself! Focus on eating & drinking lots of low-fat, high-water fruits & vegetables! If you’re a beginner, do not stress out! Just continually get more of the junk out of your diet & steadily replace it with more good stuff, as you are worth it! And keep on coming back to this channel for some deeper and deeper healing!

Americans are newer to the green game than our counterparts.

But I think the biggest thing is that many of us are not going outside of our easy zone, our comfort zone, to live green.

Many people here recycle, because it goes out with the trash (easy).
Many people have CFBs because they sell them at Ikea, Walmart and Target (easy) and they save $.
Lots of people buy clothes at vintage/thrift stores because they want a huge wardrobe cheap (easy)!
Most people take showers because they’re quicker (easy).
Lots of us are buying hybrid cars because they save on gas (easy).
Lots of us are combining errands to save on gas (easy)

Composting, going vegetarian, driving less, all of these things are much harder to do and take more research. Even switching from a car to a motorcycle takes a bit of work.

Americans aren’t stupid, we’re just a bit lazy and sometimes need a bit of prodding to get ourselves in gear. We’re going to get there though!

American consumerism will push through the green movement. Why? We buy a lot more! Simply put, we speak with our wallets and that’s what’s going to make the green movement succeed – when people buy green without even thinking about it, then the second push to get even greener will happen.

I also believe we vote with our wallets, when you have to buy something buying from a company that uses sustainable or non toxic practices takes money away from the toxic manufacturers and helps the companies trying to do the right thing. I like the websites www.biggreenpurse.com and www.treehugge.com to find links to eco friendly retailers. I’m not saying you need to go out and buy green products the most important principal of a green lifestyle is reduce. Think about things before you buy them, do you need them or just want them. Before you go out and buy new clothes try this, decide what a reasonable number of shirts, pants etc is then count what you have, chances are good you have a lot more than you think you need. If you really feel like you need to refresh your wardrobe throw a swap party, go through your closet and find things that you never wear, invite a few freinds to do the same, have them bring their unwanted items and trade items. You could wind up with a whole new wardrobe without spending a dime. Then make a commitment to never buy an article of clothing without trying it on first.
